PTPI Youth Programs

Student and University Chapters

Chapters are the backbone of People to People International, bringing the ideas of international understanding and education to life at a local level.

Student Chapters focus on cultural education, current world issues, and humanitarian and service efforts. As part of PTPI’s international chapter network, they have the opportunity to connect with peers and adults around the world. Chapter projects include various initiatives from PTPI World Headquarters. At the same time, Student Chapters have the flexibility to develop their own programs and projects according to their interests and means. PTPI helps with ideas for fundraising and gives out matching grants for special projects.

University chapters strive to work in conjunction with university curriculum to provide members with a "global education". A "global education" is the set of knowledge, skills, and attitudes that prepare individuals to live and compete in an increasingly multicultural, interconnected, and fast changing global society.

How do I form a PTPI Student or University Chapter?

It’s easy! Grab 10 friends and an adult/campus advisor, complete a simple application and your group will be ready to make a difference! For more information go to our "how to start a chapter" section.

Global Youth Forum

At PTPI’s Global Youth Forum, young achievers from around the world aged 15 to 18 explore various perspectives and skills while also experiencing an exciting new group of diverse people and cultures. A variety of dynamic speakers, interactive workshops and rewarding activities highlight this unique youth conference, which is devoted to key components of the PTPI mission: international understanding, education, leadership and humanitarianism. Delegates will also experience the charm and culture of the host city, which changes with each annual event. Students leave the Global Youth Forum equipped with the tools and inspiration necessary to take action in promoting peace, tolerance and mutual understanding in their communities and nations.

Take a look at the Global Youth Forum Web Site for more information.

International Visitors Program

The International Visitors Program is a cultural interaction experience in which members of PTPI's worldwide chapters are offered the opportunity to meet members of chapters in other countries and experience their way of life.
This is done through Host Chapter members who provide homestays for visitors from other countries by inviting them into their homes to spend time with them for a few days. In return, the Host Families get the chance to come in contact with people from other nations, which helps to create a mutual understanding of each other's culture.

Young Generation

Young members, ages 18 to 30, of PTPI chapters in Europe come together under this name to promote the ideas of Peace through Understanding and cultural exchange within the younger generation of PTPI. This network motivates young people through cultural activities, informal meetings, exchanges, visits to other chapters and the promotion of special programs for youth during PTPI conferences. Past and coming events for PTPI's Young Generation can be found here.
