Youth
Programs
|
Exciting opportunities
are available for students through People to People International.
Whether in kindergarten, high school, college or university,
participants in PTPI programs are part of a global network designed
to increase understanding of other cultures and promote friendships
across all man-made barriers which separate us. PTPI programs
educate participants through special projects which correspond with
specific ages and levels of ability. Students may travel abroad to
meet with their peers in other countries, or they may celebrate
diversity in their own back yards through the various activities
available through People to People International. |

The following PTPI programs are open to students:
-
International Visitors Program
-
Pen Pal Program
-
Artistic Ambassador Program
-
School and Classroom Program
For detailed
information
on each program, please visit PTPI’s international Web site at

Young people can form student or
university chapters,
depending on their age. Like adult chapters,
student and university
chapters can get involved in one or several standing programs of PTPI as
well as develop their own projects and activities. The volunteer work
within PTPI chapters represents an opportunity for youth to take
initiative and responsibility and at the same time
to connect with peers in other nations.
Project ideas:
-
Plan an international
fair in your school,
university or community. Introduce foods, music and cultures from
around the world.
-
Invite members from international communities in
your area to make a
speech.
-
Plan activities or parties, each with an
international or cultural theme.
-
Share pictures and journal entries from your
experiences with PTPI.
-
Participate in the School and Classroom Program.
-
Offer
Homestays to international visitors.
-
Introduce international students to your culture.
- Organize exchanges
with other student or university chapters abroad.
- Use the
opportunity to participate in PTPI's international conferences and
seminars.
At PTPI’s Global Youth Forum, young achievers from around the world aged
15
to 18 explore various perspectives and skills while also experiencing
an exciting new group of diverse people and cultures.
A variety of dynamic speakers, interactive workshops
and rewarding activities highlight this unique youth conference, which
is devoted to key components of the PTPI mission: international
understanding, education, leadership and humanitarianism. Delegates will
also experience the charm and culture of the host city, which changes
with each annual event.
Students leave the Global Youth Forum equipped with
the tools and inspiration necessary to take action in promoting peace,
tolerance and mutual understanding in their communities and nations.

PTPI Peace Camps provide an open forum, wherein youth
and adults from around the world have the opportunity to interact with
one another through lectures, workshops, and hands-on activities, giving
them a realistic and constructive way to understand today’s global
issues. The goal of PTPI Peace Camps is to achieve a skill level and
understanding of group development, planning, conflict management,
inter-cultural communications, world issues, leadership skills and team
building. Peace Camps have a special focus on peace related
subjects.
Young Generation
Young members, ages 18 to 35, of PTPI Chapters
in Europe
come together under this name to promote the ideas of Peace through
Understanding and cultural exchange within the younger generation of
PTPI. This network motivates young people through
cultural activities, informal meetings, exchanges and visits to other
chapters and the promotion of special programs for youth
during PTPI conferences.
Publications
Two
of the various PTPI publications
are dedicated to
student and university chapter activities in particular.
Our World
appears quarterly and the Student
Chapters' E-Newsletter is published monthly on PTPI's international Web
site. Both publications are an
information source linking PTPI student members.
All young PTPI members are welcome to make contributions.
