Aims
People to People International aims to foster international understanding through direct people-to-people contacts. PTPI’s Leadership Seminar is a special program to support and connect the leaders of PTPI chapters in Europe. The seminar enabled our leaders to meet, exchange experiences, improve cooperation, specify challenges and problems of PTPI and PTPI chapters in Europe, formulate goals to make PTPI and its programs more successful and develop strategies to realize those goals.

Participants
The seminar united 22 leaders from 18 PTPI chapters (2 university chapters, 5 student chapters and 11 community chapters) in the following countries: Albania, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Germany, Italy, Moldova, Poland, Romania, Russia, Slovenia, Sweden, Switzerland, Ukraine.

Reports
Below is a report from participant Gina Tataru (Boiculese) of Bucharest, Romania:
"The leadership seminar organized in Berlin each year is the best tool to use when your chapter lacks ideas on growth, promotion and retention of members, or on the contrary, when your chapter scores the highest number of members and achieves the implementation of the most successful projects. This is the moment and place when new ideas are discussed and old issues are managed with proper advice and support from all the PTPI team.
Having participated in the 2010 Leadership Seminar, I was provided with the answers I needed concerning the activities of the Bucharest Chapter. I learned from other similar chapters' experiences and promotion techniques, and realized that the issues that we have been confronted with are common to many other chapters – we just needed a new approach and a different vision. Indeed, by reading all the materials in the newsletters we receive, we get a grasp of what everyone is doing, but the Leadership seminar offered the opportunity to also discuss all the steps of getting projects and activities done – especially in a demanding environment such as a Student Chapter.
On a more personal level, the leadership seminar brought me closer to friends that I missed very much and hadn’t seen in a long time. It gave me the feeling of having a family reunion. I met new wonderful friends from different countries and learned new skills on promotion and public relations. Also, meeting with the representatives of the Toastmasters was a funny and useful session of discussions that helped me practice my public speaking skills while being evaluated by specialists in the field."
